Nearly 450 million people in the world had been disabled by hearing loss.\u00a0In India also, there are a large number of hearing impaired young people which is causing severe loss of productivity, both physical as well as economic. A large percentage of children between the ages of 0 and 14 years are also suffering from significant auditory impairment.\u00a0The larger percentage of Indian population also suffers from milder degrees of hearing loss and unilateral (one sided) hearing loss. According to WHO (2018) data,\u00a0the prevalence of hearing impairment (HI) in India is around 6.3% (63 million people suffering from significant auditory loss). The estimated prevalence of adult-onset deafness in India is 7.6% and childhood-onset deafness is 2%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Hearing loss is very personal. When hardworking professionals feel the lack of confidence that can come from not being able to contribute during meetings, hear clearly the important instructions from the boss or understand all that was said on a phone conference, it can lead to feelings of insecurity.
